Podcast: 7/13/09
Here’s another heaping helping of podcast for all of you out there in InsaneBearland. This week we talk about developers saying things that we like to hear, various things about Eidos, and the announcement of Command and Conquer 4. We kinda, sorta have a special guest as well, but it’s not the person we expected, and he doesn’t say much. So enjoy our crazy antics on this weeks InsaneBearcast.

My friend, you are by far the shittiest editor in the history of editors. Seriously, just add in the music and don’t do anything else, because you’re fucking these up more and more every week. I can’t listen to that.

I think what i was trying to articulate at the end there is that a truly open-world game should have a dynamic story that reacts to player actions. Your interactions with NPCs should affect the story in some way. The things you do should affect the world. Every player should have a truly different experience. While Oblivion and Fallout are like this to a degree, they’re still pretty much telling a linear story with a few branches to it. And morality has become more of a gimmick than a way to interact with and change the game world.
