Reactions: Exciting games get delayed, boring games get release dates

For whatever reason, this is shaping up to be one of the least crowded holiday seasons ever, while Q1 2010 could blow the world up with its awesomeness. Joining the likes of BioShock 2, Red Dead Redemption, and many other high-profile titles, Splinter Cell: Conviction will be lurking in the shadows for a bit longer than we thought. GameSpot is reporting that Ubisoft has pushed Sam Fisher’s highly anticipated return back from its expected November release date and into the first quarter of 2010. And in consideration of Sam’s loneliness, they’ve delayed Red Steel 2 into Q1 2010 as well. If that weren’t enough, the newest installment in the Ghost Recon series and the new intellectual property I Am Alive were also pushed back from their Q1 2010 dates to sometime during Ubisoft’s 2010 fiscal year (April 1st, 2010-March 31st, 2011). Bummer.

But hey, cheer up! Forza 3 will be hitting the pavement October 27th with a special edition, and the slightly-less-violent-than-the-game-it’s-supposed-to-be-upgrading Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will be bringing some co-op ninja action to gamers on September 29th. Yay?
