Reactions: New Sonic game to return to 2D roots in 2010

To commemorate the 10th birthday of the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast, Sega has announced a brand new Sonic the Hedgehog game due out next year for as-of-yet unnamed consoles. The announcement trailer pretty much tells you everything there is to know so far. And while it all sounds good and well, I get the feeling that Sonic’s breed of gameplay is simply dead and gone. But we’ll just have to wait ’til 2010 to see codename “Project Needlemouse” in action.
