Reactions: Super Street Fighter IV officially announced
After over a week of persistent rumors, Capcom has finally come out and revealed the new and improved version of Street Fighter IV, due out in spring 2010. The update/expansion/quasi-sequel will introduce eight new characters to the roster, two of which have been revealed. A returning classic, T. Hawk will undoubtedly make many Street Fighter fans happy, and a new femme fatal by the name of Juri should keep things fresh. The rest of the additions are in the dark for now, and Capcom has said that the number eight is subject to change.
Rounding out the updates to 2009′s fighting masterpiece will be a revamped online match-making system, character re-balancing for the entire roster, a new ultra move for each character in addition to their current one, and the possibility of new levels. Not much is known about the details yet, but the package is sure to be an improvement.
The only downside to Super Street Fighter IV is that it will be incompatible with Street Fighter IV when it comes to online play. That’s unfortunate. But hey, at least the expansion will be going for under full price. How much under remains to be see though.
