I’m curius…does the blood stain the bear’s fur, or does it wash out?

I imagine it washes out. In fact, I don’t know where everybody gets this idea that blood stains from. Blood’s always washed out for me, and I deal with a lot of blood…Interesting fact though, Polar Bears’ fur isn’t actually white, it’s a sort of reflective/translucent kind of deal that just looks white because of all the snow around. Or something like that. I heard it on National Geographic, so it must be true.

Yes. It also comes with that hot broad in the commercial who for some reason cares that her boyfriend hasn’t hooked his PS3 up to the internet. Only $299!

This all being said, I do personally love Sony’s advertisement campaign for the PS3. Still think it’s a POS, but it’s a very non-polarizing approach and actually leaves me considering a buy now and then.
Unlike the Apple advertisement philosophy which seems intent on making PC users more sure than ever that they’re PC users by pissing them off and making them hate anything Mac by leaps and bound. But whatever. Moral of the story: +5 props to Sony for something, at least.

Santa says to get it right the first time. And I’m curious, besides the lack of backwards compatability, what exactly makes the PS3 a POS? I mean, I prefer the 360 controller and Live, although PSN is free, but it really all comes down to the games for me. And over the past 2 years, the PS3 has been racking up a ton of great exclusives and the quality of ports has risen as well. While I do like Sony’s new commercials, it’s Uncharted 2 that’s making me consider a purchase, not their marketing department.

Also, I’m glad to know that somebody else hates those Mac commercials. They tread up the same issues every time, and many of them are issues that have never really bothered me as a Windows user. They also fail to mention how much more Macs cost and how 80% of the world uses Windows. And who gives a flying fuck about how great their customer service is? Honestly, who calls customer service anymore?

I also hate those mac commercials, but I love how they feel so threatened by windows 7, and have to attack them. Whereas, Microsoft knows how awesome Windows 7 is, and they don’t need to use it to attack macs.

Well, whether I like it or not achievements are a big part of the way I play games now. I’d say that was the nail in the Wii’s coffin for me. So when it comes to multiplatform releases, there’s just no chance I would ever buy it for my PS3 – regardless of “OMG slightly better textures that nobody really notices” or “OMG one less disc for an RPG” (referring to FFXIII, there). And yeah, I know there are trophies and whatnot, but factor in the controller and LIVE like you did, and it just crushes whatever hope was left.
As far as the exclusives go,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_games
As I’m sure is the case with any of the three consoles, 90% of these exclusives I’ve never heard of and judging by the name, have no desire to hear about. The remaining 10% – what, Heavenly Sword? lol. God of War III? I hate the mindless blood and violence of that series more than anything ever.
My library would look something like: MGS4 just ’cause, inFamous for much the same reason, Are Ratchet & Clank games still platformers? If so, maybe pile on those two with another upcoming, the two Uncharted games? Sure why not, White Knight Chronicles next year because that seems to be the only RPG exclusive on the system.
So we’re looking at 6 games now, with 2 games next year. I mean – I will say, that list comes off as substantially less crappy than I had initially set out to make it, I’ll give it that much. Excluding Twilight Princess (better played on the GC anyway, IMO) it would probably beat the pants off my Wii collection. But at the same time, I’ve still got highly anticipated 360 releases one after another on until like mid next year – so IF I do cave, it will only be as a result of the 360 library slowing down enough to warrant it.

I’m not trying to argue that the PS3 is better than the 360, because it’s not in my opinion. But I am saying that the growing library of games and lowered price definitely make it worth owning. Also, achievements are a big deal for me too. I wish they’d just make a universal system for all games. Otherwise, if I play a game without achievements, I feel like nobody will ever know and I for some reason that bothers me. Damn you and your arbitrary numbers Microsoft!

Now that there are achievements to be won in just about every game that comes out now, I wonder what kept me interested in playing games back in the day. Sure, they’re fun…but I spent endless hours on some of those games, and have nothing to show for it. Now, I can be like…look at me on MW2…I got all of the challenges for such and such, and what not.

I know! It makes me feel like a bad person for caring about some arbitrary number so much, but I do. This is all part of MS’s plan to take over the world.
