Reactions: Dragon Age expansion on the way?

Truly, this is the age of dragons.

Remember when BioWare said they had a two-year DLC plan for Dragon Age: Origins? Well, with the day-one DLC, the upcoming Return to Ostagar pack, and this latest rumor, they’ve got the first five months covered. If the information Kotaku has dug up is to be believed, we’ll be seeing a full-blown expansion in March.

Eurogamer’s Czech Republic site has posted an article detailing a new expansion for Dragon Age titled Dragon Age: Awakening. Apparently culled from product listings from unnamed websites in New Zealand, the land of movie extras, the new expansion is said to take place after the events of the original game, with a new character, a new origin story, and upwards of 15 hours of gameplay.

The bevy of new content is said to be a packaged product that requires Origins to play and will retail for roughly 2/3rds the price of the full game. $40 doesn’t sound bad, but considering I bought Origins for that much off of Amazon, it’d certainly be nice if they could cut another $10 or so off.

That’s about all the information available for now, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more soon. This rumor sounds entirely plausible based solely on the fact that I can’t put Dragon Age: Origins down right now. So I’d put my money down on seeing this expansion roll around come March.

I heard this as well. I gotta say, I’m pretty hopeful this one has some truth to it. I’m also looking forward to being able to play it again in the first place, as my neurosis can subside when my glitched achievements are patched when the new DLC is released, which I believe is on Tuesday.

Speaking of that DLC, I think it’s slated to be something like a mere 360 MS points with a single achievement worth 50G (presumably, “You beat it!”). If those are any indication of the volume of content I should be expecting from it, the mystery of why in the blue hell its been delayed for like 3 weeks becomes all the more confusing.

Hey, remember that GOTY feature that was supposed to go up yesterday? Well, that’ll actually be up Sunday night. Sorry, but Risk called.

Well…I certainly would enjoy this game, but alas, my computer hard drive is full, so I would need an external hard drive before thinking about getting the game, then there’s the problem with money and being a college student. I’ll have to wait some time before I can enjoy its greatness.

Man, how much pron do you have? I can understand the money, but I’ve never heard hard drive space as an excuse for not getting a game, lol. If you do happen to get the money, you won’t be disappointed. But at this point you might just be better saving up for Mass Effect 2 at the end of January.

After I got home, I had put on Vista, and then, poof, there goes the hard drive space. I’ve tried to go through my files and delete whatever is taking up space, but I cannot find it. Before I get into play ME2, I still need to beat the first one. Now that I’ve beaten Uncharted 2, maybe I’ll have the time to play ME. But also MAG is out at the end of the month, and the beta right now is pretty sweet.
