Reactions: Fallout: New Vegas lighting things up Fall 2010
Firstly, more games need Frank Sinatra and dusters. Secondly, I’d suggest watching that video in full-screen so you can see through the darkness better. Look for Obsidian’s take on Fallout, which promises to retain the same dark humor of Fallout 1 and 2, sometime this Fall.

Dusters are badass.
How astute of you to notice.
As FO3 was my game of the decade, surpassing even Morrowind to be my second favorite game of all time, I am looking forward to this.
And uhhh… w00t.
“What a dumb location decision. And KotOR II sucked. Lastly – it’s a post apocalyptic world… it sort of has to be bleak. Like, by definition.

I forgot to hit reply to this and replied down there
Well, then clearly I can’t take you seriously.
I am concerned about the large amount of lights that seem to be on in the city (mainly because what I loved about FO3 was the total depression that the game gave you in realizing the magnitude of loss – something FO1 and FO2 didn’t come close to doing as well at), but, if the shady characteristics of that fellow were anything to go by, the New California Republic might be the bad guys in this game.
Which is odd because that organization (or government, if you’re for them) has its roots in the events of FO1, and one of the protaganists of that game. And in FO2, iirc, it was actually one of the most positive forces of reorganization and reconstruction currently on the west coast.
Although their long term President Tandi, founder and FO1 cast member is most certainly dead by now, and perhaps it has been ‘corrupted’ (or, evolved) into an aggressive imperialistic expansionary force.
I don’t think there will ever be an opportunity in the FO universe to move me as much as FO3 did, given the setting. There’s no other city, no other state, no other concievable location that could have that much of an impact in terms of the sheer power of the landscape, and coming to terms with everything that is gone – so I don’t expect it at all to measure up to FO3.
I do, however, expect it to be good.
Fallout: New Orleans, where Bourbon Street’s still rockin’!
