That 7 minute ViDoc shows off a lot of what Reach is going to be about, with some gameplay thrown in there as well. Reach certainly looks like it’s poised to redefine what Halo is.

Looks great. Doesn’t look like it’ll be a squad-based shooter though.

Idk, your team members are definitely different classes of soldier. And that video didn’t show a ton of gameplay. I could see Bungie making it more squad oriented, having to work with your teammates, but I don’t think they’ll give you the control to give them orders. But this is all speculation at this point.

The rhetoric of going back to the first game has me actually interested in the Halo universe for the first time since… uhh… the first game.

I actually really like the Elites now, but I suppose given the knowledge that things will eventually (in terms of the Halo universe) turn out alright for those sons of bitches, it will be fun to take ‘em on again.

Yeah, I like them from a story perspective, but I like them more as enemies from a gameplay perspective. They always seemed more intelligent to me than the brutes. And I am thrilled that they’re returning to their native “blarg” language. That really made them feel alien in the first game.
