Reactions: BioShock 2 developers working on XCOM reboot

After what seems like years of rumors that BioShock 1 creator Ken Levine and his Irrational Games team have been working on an FPS reboot of the revered turn-based strategy series, it turns out that BioShock 2 developer 2K Marin is actually handling the project, allowing Irrational to work on a new IP.
Little is known about about the alien-centric game, simply titled XCOM, other than the fact that it will be exclusive to the 360 and PC. GameSpot reports that “Players will take the role of an FBI agent whose job is to identify and eliminate an unknown extraterrestrial threat.”
So pretty much, the studio that ruined BioShock is taking the reigns on a highly revered turn-based strategy franchise and turning it into a sci-fi FPS…yeah, I think I’ll take a pass on this one.

But… those are both bad! And really old.
Although that second one I would probably enjoy if only because etc.

Yeah, upon further review I’m definitely going to buy both of those games. I still want a new one though.

The article does say “These guys apparently did their share of work in BioShock 2…” but still worth noting the distinction between the two studios.

Hey, you son of a bitch! I don’t need you correcting my stories when I was about to do it anyways. And technically, because 2K Australia has merged with 2K Marin, I wasn’t wrong in saying that 2K Marin is handling development. You’re just a bundle of negativity that doesn’t particularly enjoy contributing real insights.

It was implied. Why don’t you comment on how cute the cat with the ipad is? Or are you working for the Department of Internet Hate like the guy in that video I posted in the Evil Dead post?

I’m sure you’ve already seen it though.

I wanted to see that untalented canine through to the end, but the endless high-pitched barking was just too much. What kind of an asshole puts that up on YouTube? Why would I want to hear a dog barking like a ratard?

On another note, there’s a rumor floating that 2K could make a BioShock MMO…because it’s such a fucking fantastic idea…*sigh*
