Reactions: Red Dead Redemption getting 4 DLC packs, zombies

Feel like you’ve gone too long without paying for post-release content? Have the urge to fight zombies in yet another inappropriate venue? Liked Red Dead Redemption? Well, if you meet at least two of these requirements, then you may be interested in the news that Rockstar is bringing four more DLC packs to their hit western beginning in August. Unlike the recent “Outlaws to the End” pack, this content will carry a price tag.
In August, the Legends and Killers Pack (800 Microsoft points or $9.99) will be released. This heap of content brings nine fresh maps to the game’s multiplayer competitive modes, eight new characters (from Red Dead Revolver) to saddle up as in multiplayer, a Tomahawk weapon, and trophies/achievements to collect.
The Liars and Cheats Pack (800 MS points, or $9.99) adds goods for the title’s single- and multiplayer components. The content brings new multiplayer horse races with mounted combat, an Attack and Defend multiplayer mode, eight new multiplayer characters, and multiplayer versions of Liars Dice and Poker. The Liars and Cheats Pack also adds the explosive rifle, which can be used in both single- and multiplayer. The Liars and Cheats Pack has yet to be dated.
The Free Roam Pack, which bears neither a date nor a price, expands the game’s already expansive Free Roam online component. The pack adds new Free Roam challenges, posse scoring/leaderboards, new “action areas” and “defensive placements,” as well as what Rockstar is calling new “anti-griefing” measures.
The fourth and final pack Rockstar announced today is the Undead Nightmare Pack (800 MS points or $9.99). This content starkly differs from the others in that it is a ghoulish endeavor and a single-player test. The content brings an entirely new single-player adventure, with fresh challenges and quests. Additionally, it adds more animals to the game’s biosphere, new “dynamic events,” and eight new zombie characters for use in multiplayer. Rockstar promises additional details, including its release date, “soon.”
The only one that really sounds interesting to me is the “Liars and Cheats Pack,” because I love me some Liar’s Dice. Still, I’d much rather just play it in the personal company of my amigos with some brewskies on the side. But if any of that content sounds interesting to you, stay tuned, as I’m sure Rockstar will begin promotions soon.

I’ve always wondered why poker wasn’t part of the multiplayer, but I guess they were just waiting to bring it out with some DLC.
The single player add-on stuff does sound interesting as well.
