Trailers: Dragons confirmed for Dragon’s Dogma

Apparently, the kids like them. And based on all the gameplay trailers we’ve seen thus far, I’m inclined to like Capcom’s take on dragons as well. Kotaku’s Luke Plunkett has described Dragon’s Dogma as an Eastern response to BioWare’s successful Dragon Age franchise, but with those special little Japanese quirks we love so much–you know, like the ability to greatly adjust the bust size of user-created female characters.

It’s unclear whether or not your lady’s assets will affect her combat prowess, but the character creation tools do seem to be pretty in-depth. Factors such as a character’s bulk and posture will actually affect balance and animations in combat, going far beyond the typical cosmetics of most character creators. Dragon’s Dogma really does seem to be doing some interesting and unique things in the gameplay department. I just wonder if Western audiences will be able to look past its heavy-metal guitar bad guy conventions and see all the innovation.
