Reactions: Fallout spin-off set for 2010
Insert crappy "what happens in Vegas" joke here.
According to GameSpot, we’ll be seeing a new Fallout sometime next year. At an event in London today, Bethesda announced that the new title will be called Fallout: New Vegas and is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment of Neverwinter Nights 2 and Knights of the Old Republic II fame. It is not a direct sequel to 2008′s critically acclaimed Fallout 3, but takes place in the Fallout universe and will maintain the same RPG format of the title. And in a bit of irony, many of the founders of Obsidian Entertainment are former members of Interplay’s Black Isle Studios, developers of the original Fallout games. Hopefully the bright lights of Vegas will liven up the world a little more and I’ll be able to appreciate that great gameplay without getting so depressed about how bleak the world around me is.

What a dumb location decision. And KotOR II sucked. Lastly – it’s a post apocalyptic world… it sort of has to be bleak. Like, by definition.

Don’t trounce on my hopes man. Maybe all the radiation will have soaked into the neon signs and given them a healthy eternal glow. I just want a world that doesn’t make me feel bad inside…
