Reactions: Jet Set Radio grinding onto Xbox Live Arcade?

According to Kotaku, the Sega Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind Radio in the States) could be making its way to the XBLA in the near future. Citing the above image of a French-language Xbox Live Marketplace, provided by one Xbox360 Leaker, Kotaku believes that the very unique title could be just one of several Dreamcast favorites making their way to XBLA. This is all speculation based on an unconfirmed photo at this point, but I definitely think I’d try it out if the rumor turns out to be true.
Author: CodyFeature: Genre blending and the future of games

Let's hope that video game blending is less catastrophic.
So I’ve purchased three full-fledged video games this year and despite the fact that they all hail from very different genres, Mass Effect 2, BioShock 2, and Splinter Cell: Conviction have more in common than one would think. How is it that the RPG, FPS, and Stealth-Action genres, as mutually exclusive as could be just a few years ago, are producing such similar content in 2010? Well, it’s an interesting trend that I intend to examine in this here article. The implications of genre blending are seriously important in regards to what we’ll be playing next year or even ten years from now, so it’s a topic worth talking about.

Well, hope you weren’t looking forward to Team Ninja’s re-envisioning of Metroid on June 27th, because GameSpot is reporting that the title as been pushed back to August 31st. At least Wii owners can still anticipate Super Mario Galaxy 2‘s May 23rd release date.

As always, Mr. Sharkey gives some equally vulgar and thoughtful insights on a hot topic in the gaming industry. Plus he can really draw a good Roger Ebert.
Author: CodyTrailers: Combat in Star Wars: The Old Republic
I’m glad to see that BioWare is making an effort to diversify combat so we’re not just clicking the same attack animation over and over again, but the presentation really does look a bit lackluster. They should get the Mass Effect 2 team to show them a thing or two about real time combat.

And if that doesn’t wet your whistle, take in the nifty trailer below.
Trailers: Yup, another Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer
I can never think of anything interesting to say about any of these Mario trailers other than they look fun. So…yeah…nice art direction?
Author: CodyReactions: Drew Brees lands a spot on the cover of Madden

And the curse that comes along with it! If anyone’s going to break the Madden curse, I could see Brees doing it, but the mojo brewing around that cover is not to be taken lightly. But hey, if Brees goes down with a season-ending injury, then I’d say that puts the Packers in contention for the NFC Championship, so bring on the voodoo.
