Reactions: Beyond Good & Evil 2 canceled?

Well, at least it has been according to French game site WootGaming (via CVG). Apparently, series creator Michel Ancel has left Ubisoft “along with another ‘star developer’ to found his own studio in France.” With Ancel gone, Ubiosoft decided to can Beyond Good & Evil 2.

You know what was cool? That first pre=rendered trailer for this game that had all the Jedi and Sith flipping all over the place and star ships crashing through walls and other such craziness.

I’m totally imagining Machete from Planet Terror reading that headline right now.

Yup, I’m totally doing this. I hate that I’m doing this, my stupid real life has been interfering with my fantasy game journalist life this past week, so I need to get caught up some how. Just click your links and be quiet!

Well, I wanted to wait a few days to give myself more time to think on the finale and to peruse the IMDB boards in hopes that I’d stumble across some intelligent conversation. Unfortunately, every time I try to think about it my brain decides that there isn’t enough evidence to make sense of everything and shuts down. If you take a long enough break from melting darkness incarnate with your flashlight in Alan Wake and look at its DLC menu, you might notice that the game’s second, and more importantly, unannounced post-release pack, titled “The Writer,” is being advertised. The content looks to put the hard-boiled writer through some grueling trials of some sort, although the 800 Microsoft Points your wallet has to cough up is quite the trial in itself. It’s unclear when “The Writer” will be releasing, but Alan Wake‘s first post-release adventure, “The Signal,” should be coming out in a little over two months.

Get your glasses ready.
The latest issue of Gamepro magazine, which should be shipping out June 1st, has managed to find its way into the hands of at least one subscriber a bit early. This lucky subscriber was kind enough to share the secrets within on the GameSpot forums. And in the event that you have some rare condition which prevents you from reading the headlines of the articles you click on, I’ll end the suspense and tell you that this kind source spilled the beans on PS3 exclusive Killzone 3.
