Reactions: Madden 11 demo dated, detailed

I know all of you die hard Madden fans in the IB community have been clamoring for this news, so here it is–the Madden 11 demo is coming to Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on July 27th. So if you’re anything like me, that’s the day you’ll play Madden for the first time in a year to see if this year’s version is finally going to be the one before quickly investing your $60 somewhere else. But at least we get a full game with five minute quarters this year. Although, I must say that the match up of Jets vs. Colts could be sexier. Still, the demo will give gamers a chance to test out one of the franchise’s more radical changes of late, the new “gameflow” play-calling system. According to GameSpot:

That’s not today’s date in the headline, I know, I haven’t gone crazy, but that’s when the thing was supposed to be posted, so for the sake of consistency, we’ll stick with that. Also for the sake of consistency, listen to this podcast like you always do.

Trailers: New Kane & Lynch 2 video
As I watch this I just can’t help but think how awesome it would be to play a game where you gather a crew of like-minded criminals and plan a major heist together. Emphasis on the planning. Why does everything always have to be about guns in this industry? The best part of heist movies is seeing a detailed work of complexity come to flawless fruition. I want to plan a heist, damn it!
Author: CodyTrailers: Cliffy B takes us through a storm of bullets
Yeah, it’s the same level shown at E3, but Dude Huge’s in-depth commentary makes it worth watching. There are a few things I don’t like about the game, like the macho power-fantasy attitude, but all things considered, Bulletstorm looks like a hell of good time. I can definitely see the range of attacks wearing a little thin after a while, though, so hopefully People Can Fly adds some more depth to the combo system.

If anybody is on the fence about whether or not to spend the $5 for this new DLC, then this trailer will probably assist your decision. For me, watching this just makes me lament my experience with BioShock 2. The gun-play is clearly superior to the first game’s, but it just lacks all the heart and soul of that original masterpiece. Why won’t 2K smarten up and take the core ideals of a BioShock experience and put them in a different universe? That series doesn’t need direct sequels, but spiritual sequels could thrive. It’s not like it’s some radical idea that would risk losing sales. A little franchise by the name of Final Fantasy doth proveth that.
Author: CodyTrailers: They’re making a H.A.W.X. 2?
I was under the impression that the first one didn’t sell very well and that a sequel was unlikely. I mean, come on, is there really a market for console flight simulators? It sure as hell looks boring to me. But hey, somebody out there must be buying these games!
Author: CodyReactions: Mass Effect 2 is ruining Dragon Age II

Well, maybe that headline is a bit harsh going off of a press release and a few pieces of concept art, but it is clear that Mass Effect 2‘s wild success has BioWare tinkering the Dragon Age franchise into a fantasy version of Mass Effect despite the strong sales of Dragon Age: Origins, which clearly highlighted the eager market of gamers who are clamoring for hardcore PC RPGs. Don’t believe me? Just read Dragon Age II‘s description, straight from its freshly launched website:
