Trailers: Extended look at Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

I haven’t really been following this game too closely since Castlevania never met that much to me, but I’m sure some people out there are greatly invested in this. I have to say, it doesn’t look half bad. Those Titan fights at the end, while blatantly ripping off Shadow of the Colossus, still look pretty fun. It’ll be interesting to see if a 3D Castlevania experience can finally satisfy fans.

Trailers: Little Big Planet 2′s creation tools are damn impressive

That there is an interpretation of Zone of the Enders. Street Fighter II, a generic Vietnam FPS, and Flow have also been done. I can’t wait to see what people manage to make with this game when it comes out in January 2011. I’m especially excited to see what original content comes about.

Trailers: First 4 minutes of Bastion

There is so much to love about this game, but if they don’t find some synonyms for “kid” and “fella” then I’m going to freak out.

Reactions: Alan Wake’s “The Writer” DLC due October 12th

Well, you all know that I didn’t particularly care for this game, but in the event that you liked it, this is the last piece of DLC for Alan Wake. 560 Microsoft Points will net you a lot of dutch angles and shining lights at floating words.

Random: “Link of War”

Artist David Hsu Yen’s God of War-inspired take on Link and Ganon certainly gives a good impression of what a Zelda game might look like if Nintendo ever hops on the “dark and mature” band-wagon.

Reactions: Microsoft canning Project Milo?

Not an actual screen of Project Milo.

It isn’t the first time rumors of cancellation have swirled for the unorthodox game/tech demo, but this one certainly has more convincing details than previous speculations. Eurogamer is reporting that, “Development on Lionhead’s motion-sensing relationship simulation was officially halted yesterday, with ’19 contractors’ let go, according to a source claiming to be close to the situation.”

Reactions: Little Big Planet 2 delayed

I’m beginning to wonder why these companies give games release dates so early in the development schedule. It seems like every year half of the Holiday window’s titles get pushed back to early 2011. And according to GameSpot, that’s just what’s happened with PS3 exclusive Little Big Planet 2. No specific reason was given for the delay other than the standard “best experience for the fans” line. Probably needs more polish and Sony wants to avoid the Holiday competition. Regardless, you can look for Media Molecule’s latest in January 2011.

Reactions: Juicy, succulent Arkham City details

As the title implies, Batman: Arkham City is going above and beyond the confines of 2009′s Arkham Asylum. To be precise, the new game-world, which Gotham’s mayor thought a good place to fence off and throw criminals into, will be five times the size of Arkham Asylum. Reportedly, “every nook and cranny has a story,” despite the world’s larger scale. The city is described as “a mix of Tim Burton’s original Batman movie and a touch of Escape from New York.” So far, so good.
