Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two‘s formula might sound more like a recipe for some sort of cheese-seeking homemade bomb, but in reality it looks like a great exercise in co-operative teamwork and the other great virtues of the world’s most famous mouse.

Well, not quite. You see, the developers have gotten themselves trapped in some sort of tear in the space-time continuum, and the long and short of it is that we won’t be able to play Kim Swift’s (of Portal fame) second game until sometime this summer. That’s probably a good thing, because I think I need some time to work out just what this video is saying and how the hell the pie comes in. Not that I’m opposed to spontaneous appearances of pie!

.38 Studios’ long awaited MMO set in the world of Amalur will be coming in June of 2013 (assuming the developer doesn’t go under by then), but until then, we’ll just have to settle for this brief tour of the gameworld. I don’t know about you, but it looks sort of…generic. You would think that with a baseball player running the show, things might deviate from the expected a little bit.

Every time I hear the developers talk about this game, they all sound so passionate and enthused, which really makes me think that it will be a fun and unique game. But all of the gameplay footage says the exact opposite to me. Maybe this is just one of those games that you need to play to properly gauge the feel, but the mixed signals really have me at a loss.

One might also call this DLC “The Children Come Out to Play.” What’s with all the Robin? And Harley Quinn is hardly intimidating. Are all of the adults busy with something else? I suppose I shouldn’t complain, though; the pack looks like a whole new storyline. How long said story lasts is still a mystery at this point, but every hour spent in Arkham City is a good one.

I know you’ll miss our thrilling reports, but there are some very important bear things that need to be taken care of over the next week and a half, so the doctors are letting us out of our den at the looney bin until Monday May 21st.
