Trailers: The Darkness II launch trailer
In which Jackie Estacado becomes lord of the gremlins. That’s some dark doo-doo, my brothers in light. And yeah, those last 30 seconds have nothing to do with the game, but I found them far more entertaining than any 15 second ad.

This online-only mode looks to be a good time for anybody interested in copious amounts of mayhem, and the the characters seem just different enough for everybody to find a favorite and slip into the role. I will say that the enemy AI looks dreadfully dim-witted and that this build has far too many repeated kill animations, but hey, maybe the darkness is in their brains and they just don’t see the repetitive pattern of destruction blasting toward them. Those poor souls.

Or perhaps the “Heart of Sandiness”? You’re right, that would probably take away from what this game is trying to accomplish. While the developers in the interview below are quick to note that The Line is merely inspired by Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and not a direct interpretation of the classic, the comparisons are strikingly evident. But that’s a good thing.

That means that we can no longer expect the promising Tactical FPS-RPG on March 6th. Instead, it’s been pushed back to sometime between April 1st, 2012 and March 31st, 2013. Sometimes bad things happen. But my gut tells me we’ll be seeing it around Holiday 2012.
Author: CodyTrailers: “Assecution” is a thing in The Darkness 2
Yes, you read that right. Assecution. It’s a real made-up word. Don’t believe me? Watch this gloriously violent trailer for The Darkness 2 then. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many spinal columns in my life (outside of a marathon Mortal Kombat session, of course).

Author: RyanTrailers: Why you should care about XCOM
Isn’t it refreshing to see a Shooter that’s more complex than your standard Modern Military corridor crawl? To think, you actually have to put more thought into it than simply deciphering whether your crosshair is red or green!

Also known as Borderlands 2 to some. I don’t know what Gearbox’s President has got against midgets, but his team certainly knows how to make a pretty looking game. The “toon-shaded” style introduced in the first game seems slightly more pronounced here and the greater, more colorful vistas just give it more opportunity to show off some of the most satisfying visuals in video games. Add in some improved AI path-finding, more crazy guns, and a villain by the name of “Handsome Jack,” and you’ve got the ingredients for an awesome looking game.

I usually try to avoid posting 20 minute videos, but this E3 demo for 2K Marin’s XCOM is totally worth watching. Just sit back and allow the various tactical and RPG elements to spice up your virtual shooting life.
