assassin’s creed: brotherhood
Reactions: AC: Brotherhood’s Da Vinci disappears!
Oh, my! It’s up to you to spend the $10 Ubisoft is asking for “The Da Vinci Disappearance” pack in order to save the beloved renaissance-man. The ensuing adventure will take place over eight missions and offer two new locations in addition to two new gameplay features. There is also a high probability of Hermeticist killing, as that’s the cult that decided to kidnap your old painter pal.

I’m very confused as to why the GameSpot guy is talking about Desmond while who I presume to be Ezio is avoiding canon fire on horseback in the streets of Rome. Am I missing something here?

Good to see that they’re putting a little emphasis on stealth. I guess they figure that the blood-thirsty fans of the series can only take so much sneaking before they need to murder entire fortresses, though. And on a side note, that narrator should totally be voicing every developer walk-through ever.

I’ll be the first to admit how skeptical I’ve been of multiplayer in Assassin’s Creed and the quality ofBrotherhood in general. And I still think that all the combat in this gameplay looks incredibly boring, but the idea of multiplayer parkour chases is blowing my mind. I am now officially holding judgment on this game.

Would have been nice if they spent more time telling us things we don’t know and less time dressing up like fools. And seriously, every single time I see this game I just think of all the different directions I’d take it in. If we’re the leader of a brotherhood of assassins then why not throw in a strategy element where we decide who to kill and when to kill them? Why not introduce various factions to contend with so the player has to be conscious of the shifts in power they’re creating? Why not do something, anything to spice up what’s shaping up to be a linear hack ‘n’ slash game? Oh, and I hate Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood even more now because I just came to the realization that even when the multiplayer sucks, it’s still setting a precedent that Ubisoft will feel obligated to follow with Assassin’s Creed III. Sigh…

Well, at least they’re no longer keeping up the facade of a stealth game, what with the group brawl in the streets of Rome. I just wonder if Ezio’s going to stab a guy with a pitchfork. Oh, and rumor has it that Patrice Desilets, creative director of the series, “has decided to take a creative break from the industry and is no longer working on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.” Bummer.

Hey, remember when Ubisoft said the next Assassin’s Creed game would feature multiplayer? Well, today that game has a name and release window–Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Holiday 2010 for the 360, PS3, and PC. Fortunately, Ubisoft has shared some details that make it sound like Brotherhood won’t be a total disaster.
