bioshock infinite
Trailers: Ken Levine reminds us why BioShock: Infinite will be awesome
Specifically, why it’ll be awesome on the PS3. But frankly, I’ll be happy with which ever version of awesome I can get my hands on.

I could go on and on about how every frame looks like a unique part of a hand-crafted world, how the vertical action puts butterflies in my stomach, or how a mere 15 minutes of gameplay has already given me a sense of an engaging cast of characters with interesting relationships, but words really wouldn’t do it justice.

Damn those commies and their disdain for private mail! I’m on the postman’s side.

This had...something...to do with E3.
Well, the show is over, I’m mostly recovered, and you probably want something to read. I think it’s clear to everyone involved that an arbitrary list awarding accolades to games that have yet to release should follow. Without further ado…

Denim chicken. Bird with teeth. Wermhat’s worm hat. Charlie Kelly has dreamt up some spectacular things in his day, but BioShock Infinite just might be the coolest. It really seems to be taking every single gameplay aspect that made the first BioShock so special and expanding on it in all the right ways.

Some might write this gameplay off as more of the same, but there are a lot of things to get excited about in this video. For one, sky-coasters are awesome. But there are also a whole bunch of of new powers to fantasize about too. Most interesting, though, is the number of enemies on screen at once without any drop in frame-rate. Battles look to have a significantly larger scale than those of previous BioShock titles. It also looks like a lot of fun (and it’ll be even more fun if it turns into proper co-op) to work in tandem with Elizabeth. The dramatic changes in weather showcase a beautiful world that will have no problem getting players to forget about Rapture’s gorgeous aesthetics and the protagonist has a hell of a lot more character than Jack from BioShock. Considering Irrational Games still has two years to work on this puppy, I’m pretty excited for the prospects.
Author: CodyReactions: Irrational Games announces BioShock Infinite
Remember when 2K Games said that Ken Levine and Irrational were working on a new IP that could be turned into another franchise? Turns out that was only half true. For all intents and purposes, BioShock Infinite is what BioShock 2 should have been–a game built on the core gameplay elements of BioShock, but set in a different world with a completely new story. So while Infinite is still using the BioShock name to unscrupulously boost sales, it could technically spawn its own series of spin-offs set in the new city of Columbia.
