Trailers: The Witcher 2 developer diary 0
Apparently they start counting from zero in Poland. Still, CD Projekt Red is really moving up in the world these days: they’re finally developing on consoles, they’ve managed to find some English speaking staff members for marketing videos, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll start counting from one some day. Not that it really matters; they can count from negative one just as long as they keep treating their games with the respect and tact such quality experiences deserve.

Man, the year 1271 was so great. Remember that awesome party the king threw on his boat in the Pontar River? There were astounding feats of archery, jesters kickin’ each other in the butt, and two dudes just wailing on each other. Oh, and then there was that whole freezing the entire boat and brutally murdering everybody aboard thing… That guy was such a buzz-kill.

There are a lot of numbers in that headline. But that’s not what I’m reporting on! No, instead, I’m glad to inform you that one of the PC’s best games of 2011 will finally be making its way to the 360 on April 17th, 2012. And it’s not just a simple port.

I'm putting all my points into the beard stat!
I’ve got some good news and some bad news folks. We’ll get the unsavory business out of the way first: the Xbox 360 version of CD Projekt Red’s acclaimed The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has been delayed from Q4 2011 to Q1 2012. The reasons for the delay were cited as a need for extra polish and, more importantly, a legal dispute between CD Projekt Red and Namco Bandai over international distribution rights for the 360 version. Can somebody please just cast a charm spell and get this game in my hands as soon as possible?

That you’ll start speaking in tongues when you play it. Seriously. I swear those dudes didn’t know a word of Polish before playing The Witcher 2. Honestly…

From the looks of it, developer CD Projekt Red is devil-upping a deep and engaging combat system with some gorgeous animations to match. The wait won’t be much longer, with release pegged for May 17th. And maybe if I continue to wish for a console version in every post related to the game, that’ll come in good time too.
Author: CodyReactions: Console version of The Witcher 2 now in doubt

CD Projekt Red has been pretty vocal about their wishes to put 2011′s most awesome looking RPG on consoles in addition to its native PC platform, but they’ve also been very coy about the progress of such a multi-platform release. Speaking to Eurogamer, senior producer Tomasz Gop said, “All I can say for now is that it’s not likely for any POTENTIAL [sic] console release to be simultaneous [with the PC game].” The PC version is still on track for its March, 2011 release, but I’m just desperately hoping that it finds its way onto consoles sometime before the close of 2011.

Not a whole lot of new info here, but it’s nice to see that CD Projekt Red has gotten some English-speaking PR guys. I’m really hoping a console version of this emerges before the end of 2011.

This game needs to come to consoles so I can play it.

Firstly, how expensive could it possibly be to get an English speaking spokesman for these things? Jesus! But now that that’s out of the way, this game looks awesome to an epic degree of radtacularness. I just hope it comes out on consoles day and date with the early 2011 PC version…although importing choices from the first game could be a problem on consoles, what with there not being a first game on consoles. Regardless, these guys are saying all of the right things and I really have my hopes up for this one. I mean, they’re from Poland–bleak and depressing stories are sort of in their nature.
