This online-only mode looks to be a good time for anybody interested in copious amounts of mayhem, and the the characters seem just different enough for everybody to find a favorite and slip into the role. I will say that the enemy AI looks dreadfully dim-witted and that this build has far too many repeated kill animations, but hey, maybe the darkness is in their brains and they just don’t see the repetitive pattern of destruction blasting toward them. Those poor souls.

It might have been flying under your radar until now, but if you have any interest in co-op gaming, it should now be squarely in your sights. And unlike so many one-and-done co-op experiences, Hunted features a fully developed level creator that actually looks to be reasonably accessible.

And since I know you’re wondering: this puppy’s coming out on May 31st.

I haven’t had the opportunity to play nearly as much Red Dead Redemption as I’d like to, but what I have played has been pretty fun so far. And you know what makes fun things double the fun? A friend or three joining in!

1UP is reporting that the “Outlaws to the End” pack will be available June 22nd. Festivities will include six cooperative missions, “co-op challenges, multiplayer XP rewards and additional achievements and trophies.” No pricing has been revealed as of yet.

Redemption's always more fun with a friend...

According to GameSpot, Rockstar will be releasing a free DLC pack for Red Dead Redemption this June, titled “Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack.” The pack is said to support 2-4 players online and includes six missions, three of which have been detailed so far.

The Walton’s Gold mission will see players loot a gold mine rigged to explode, while The River follows players on a raft-borne raid on a rebel weapons depot. The Ammunition mission sees players storm a Mexican army stronghold.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m always excited for co-op, but I’m pretty sure what they’re calling “free DLC” used to be referred to as an unfinished game. Just sayin’. Red Dead Redemption comes out May 18th, and a few weeks later we can all look forward to finding some bandits to partner up with and sing songs about prairie dogs around the camp fire with. Yee-haw!

Looks like they’re really crafting a nice little co-op campaign here. And I love the idea of a co-op experience providing the back-story to the main single-player experience. The only issue I’ve noticed with the game so far is some typically stupid video game AI. What kind of security guards stand in silence, staring directly at each other from three feet away without the slightest interest in small-talk? Don’t they have routes to be patrolling?

In my opinion, the franchise that dethroned the venerable Tony Hawk series as the best skating games in town is beginning to cross that same bridge. It just seems like too many similar titles in too short a time span, and I feel like Skate‘s time on top of the cage is coming to an end. But if you’re still interested in the series, the newest entry looks to place a major emphasis on team-work and co-op play.

As a side note, don’t those animations look terrible for a game coming out in the year 2010? There’s nothing remotely realistic about them. “Balancing” during a grind looks about as good as it did back in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Come on, now.

That there would be a glimpse of the new co-op “Special-Ops” mode. Looks like some pretty intense, non-stop action. Also, Player 2 sucks.

And this is a peak at the single-player campaign, which appears to be embracing a wide breadth of different environments that will keep things fresh. I also like the inclusion of citizen bystanders, who will undoubtedly give the game’s atmosphere a more authentic feel. Looking forward to November 10th, when Modern Warfare 2 hits store shelves.
