Trailers: Crysis 2 multiplayer interview

Those free-running mechanics look so ridiculously smooth. I really hope they’re a big part of the gameplay. I also hope there’s an unlockable monkey character for multiplayer.

Gamescom 2010: First look at Crysis 2′s multiplayer

Based on this preview I read, it sounds like the competitive aspect of Crysis 2, which is being developed by Crytek UK (formerly Free Radical), will retain the high speed and encouragement of constant movement found in their beloved TimeSplitters games. And going off of the gameplay above, it also looks like the nano-suit’s abilities will be incorporated almost like perks in Modern Warfare, albeit with more drastically noticeable effects. A class system will allow players to specialize in specific types of play style and experience rewards will let us purchase the upgrades we want. All and all, I wish it were a little less similar to most modern shooters, but it does seem to be doing just enough to feel different. Plus it’s really pretty.

Reactions: Rage and Crysis 2′s respective apocalypses officially dated

If 2010 just doesn’t have enough catastrophic wastelands of decay for your tastes, then look no further than March 22nd, 2011. That’s when aliens plan to redecorate New York City in the highly anticipated sequel to 2007′s Crysis. But if mutants are more to your liking, then id’s Rage will have you covered come September 13th, 2011. Personally, I’m really looking forward to this one. But really, I can’t think of an apocalyptic scenario that I’m not looking forward to.

Reactions: Crysis 2 delayed to 2011, Need for Speed Shift 2 announced

Man, if the back end of 2010 wasn’t already looking lean then it certainly is now. EA’s most recent financial earnings report revealed that the anticipated follow-up to sci-fi FPS Crysis has been pushed into the first quarter of 2011 for a “better window and polishing.” That pretty much leaves Halo: Reach and Fable III as the only games I care about for the rest of 2010.
