Trailers: Dragon Age II’s demo demoed
Those combat animations certainly do look more fluid, but I don’t know where they get off demonizing a prostate. If the male version of Hawke were there I wager he’d show that Templar just how badly he needs a prostate.

…And revel in all the things that you won’t actually be able to do in game! At least the video below, which details the first two minutes of BioWare’s latest, gives us a glimpse of FemHawke.
Author: CodyFeature: Gaming in 2011

It might not be the sexiest (or most original) feature you’ve read lately, but I think 2011′s line-up of games is so damn nice that it’s worth looking at twice. Also this gives me an opportunity to share some of the ways that 2011 will be affecting me personally as a gamer. Namely, I’ve decided that after spending nearly $600 on video games last year only to realize that most of them weren’t even that good, it’s time to try out GameFly. I figure the $15 a month will let me play more games at a lower cost. If I come across a game that I’m particularly infatuated with, I can pony up for it then. Heck, I could buy six full-priced games in addition to the GameFly subscription and still come out ahead of last year’s expenses. In fact, that’s sort of what this list is all about; trying decipher which six games look good enough to buy as of right now.
Author: CodyTrailers: What kind of girl goes by “Hawke”?
Is anybody really going to play this game as a female? I mean, FemHawke just doesn’t have the same ring to it as FemShep. But with that complaint aside, let’s move on to more complaints! I have faith that BioWare will make a very enjoyable game, as they’ve never let me down before, but everything I hear about this game just makes me think Origins will be better. Here’s to hoping that a character who seems far less charismatic than Shephard, along with character progression that revolves around two extremes doesn’t spoil the advancements in art direction, graphics, combat, and so on.

Thanks to Eurogamer, we now know of a brash and wild rogue with a sexy accent that’ll be appearing in Dragon Age II. Phew! I was worried that BioWare was only going to use stock characters.

I guess it’s kind of different…
Author: CodyTrailers: Dragon Age II still has blood, dragons
I still disagree with BioWare doing away with Origin stories and essentially turning this into a fantasy version of Mass Effect, but considering how much I love Mass Effect, I’m not going to say that this game doesn’t look good to me. If I can put aside my disappointment over the destruction of unique player experiences in favor of “a more personal story,” and if I can get over how much of a douche bag Hawke looks like, then maybe I can come to appreciate the much-needed changes to combat. And if worse comes to worst, then I can just go replay the ridiculously awesome Dragon Age: Origins.
Author: CodyTrailers: Rise to adolescent male power fantasy in Dragon Age II
Is it just me, or does Dragon Age II‘s latest trailer, titled “Rise to Power” come off as terribly juvenile? While we may have played the role of a hero in the first game, events seemed much bigger than any one person and were presented in a relatively mature and realistic way. It always reminded me of The Lord of the Rings. Dragon Age II on the other hand, seems to be reverting to the old stand-by of a bearded champion who is the only person capable of saving big-breasted women the world from destruction. How original.
Gamescom: See Dragon Age II in all its pre-rendered glory
Putting my personal feelings on the game aside for a moment, I still have to say that that is a pretty terrible trailer as far as CGI trailers go. Oh, and have I mentioned that I utterly loath the look of our new stock hero, Hawke? Come to think of it, I’m not overly fond of his name either. He’s no Shepard, I can tell you that much.
Author: CodyReactions: Mass Effect 2 is ruining Dragon Age II

Well, maybe that headline is a bit harsh going off of a press release and a few pieces of concept art, but it is clear that Mass Effect 2‘s wild success has BioWare tinkering the Dragon Age franchise into a fantasy version of Mass Effect despite the strong sales of Dragon Age: Origins, which clearly highlighted the eager market of gamers who are clamoring for hardcore PC RPGs. Don’t believe me? Just read Dragon Age II‘s description, straight from its freshly launched website:
