Reactions: SimCity reboot officially revealed
EA and Maxis have announced that 2013 will see the release of a new entry in the SimCity franchise, simply titled, SimCity. The new entry will run on Maxis’ GlassBox engine, taking your city from the old 2D realms to a more modern 3D look. The engine also “gives you the power to impact individual Sims lives, manage city level simulation, and balance multiple city simulations at once,” according to the game’s website.

I’d love to give you some finely written, full-fledged stories, but this bear is enduring some rather unpleasant back pain right now and just wants to go into hibernation. But with all the big rumors floating around right now, I wouldn’t want to deprive you of all the juicy gossip. So…have some links?

Just in case you forgot how important Earth was. Expect to save it (or die trying) on March 6th.

You know what would really get me excited to “take earth back?” Some gameplay footage. Or, really, just an extended trailer of Shepard stabbing Husks in the face and generally just being a bouse. Or dubstep. Dubstep makes everything better.

According to an Xbox Live Marketplace listing that seems to have gone up early, Mass Effect 3 will have a day one DLC pack titled “From Ashes.” BioWare has since confirmed to Kotaku that the content will be available for $10 when the game releases and that it will be free for gamers who have purchased the N7 collector’s edition of Shepard’s final outing (priced at $80).

It’s kind of hard to pump it up without dubstep blasting in the background, Shep.

A generic trailer for a generic game. At least they’re consistent…

The returning veterans sound better than ever and the new additions seem to be quite excited to be a part of the game. I have confidence that the voice acting will–wait, the eye candy’s not Miranda? One Miranda wasn’t enough? How will we ever differentiate between Ashley (young and busty white brunette 1), Miranda (young and busty white brunette 2), and “Diana Allers” (young and busty white brunette 3)?

Now we know. And you know what? I actually think it looks pretty cool. The combat has always been fun in Mass Effect games and this will give me a chance to try out all the classes without having to replay the entire game half a dozen times. Not to mention the hilarity that will ensue when you get a mix of Krogans and Salarians on your team. If any game excuses ignorant online racial tensions, it will surely be Mass Effect 3. It’s just role-playing, right?
Author: CodyTrailers: Kingdoms of Amalur’s art design sets itself apart…
By looking exactly like Fable‘s. Come on, guys. This stylized, colorful, cartoony trend is starting to get just as old as hyper-realism. Maybe that’s a bit of an overstatement, but I’d love to hear an argument on what makes Reckoning‘a art direction completely unique from everything else. Why hasn’t somebody made a game world in the vein of Picasso’s work or something like that? Lord, give indie games the power to save us all!
