I really don’t understand why people aren’t talking about this game as the next Grand Theft Auto III or Mercenaries. It just oozes the senseless, no-holds-barred kind of fun that those games had and so few feature today. The game was originally slated for a September release, but seems to have fallen victim to the great video game famine of the 2009 holiday season. As of right now, Rico’s next adventure is being pegged for Q1 2010. We’ll be watching it closely here at InsaneBear.

Well, the picture really says it all, but in case you’re thick or something I’ll spell it out. If you turn on your console of choice and watch the Batman: Arkham Asylum news ticker, you’ll notice a message saying, “New free downloadable content coming in 9 days!” No word on what this content will be yet, but I’m willing to bet it’ll come in the form of some challenge rooms, maybe the exclusive Scarecrow one GameStop was offering to potential customers. So make sure to pop in your copy of the game on September 17th to solve the mystery.

It seems like every time I see this game it looks cooler. That combat actually looks fun. Hopefully the game’s as good as its marketing come June.
