Feature: Top 5 canceled TV shows that need a video game
Puppies die. Ice cream melts. Short-sighted networks cancel fresh and innovative shows in favor of the seventh different version of CSI (Who am I kidding? It’s not like CBS has ever had any good shows to cancel anyways!) In short, the world’s not perfect. But that doesn’t mean we can’t dream of reviving our favorite shows in our favorite medium. That’s right, folks, I’m talking about a Point-and-Click Arrested Development here! Okay, maybe that wouldn’t work out too well, but the following list offers up some potential candidates that could find a new home in the world of video games. Enjoy!

Not actually from the show...but this "restaurant" is too ridiculous for people not to know about.
5.) Twin Peaks – I have to admit that I’ve never actually seen Twin Peaks (I mean, it did originally air in the year of my birth), but the fact that people are still talking about it today proves that the universe is exciting enough to return to. And on the off chance that David Lynch would actually be interested in overseeing the video game adaption, can you imagine what kinds of wacky Eternal Darkness sort of game mechanics we might see? Review: Halo 3: ODST

Score: Good
Difficulty played on: Heroic
Time to beat: 6 hours
Loved the most: Tie between the music and the story-telling structure.
Hated the most: Lack of thoughtful modification to the Halo formula given the player’s new role.
If you’ve been exposed to any form of electronic media in the past six months, you’ve probably heard of a little game called Halo 3: ODST, which tells the story of what happened on Earth following Master Chief’s departure in Halo 2. Or is it an expansion? That’s where a lot of the confusion comes in with Bungie’s experimental new title. They price it like a full game, and in theory, the concepts behind the game should generate an entirely new Halo experience, but at the same time, they rely quite heavily on Halo 3‘s assets and formulas throughout. The end result is a very fun Halo game that will likely satisfy some gamers with its proven techniques and disappoint others with its lack of innovations.

The more I see this game the more I find its goodness hard to deny. Sure, it’s an expansion at heart, but they’re doing some really cool things with the story and the gameplay looks like good ole fashion Halo action. The one thing that’s really selling me on this is the Firefly guys personalizing the characters so much. Should be an interesting spin-off.

Firstly, I apologize for the awful quality, but it’s all I could find. If you like what you hear, you can always buy season six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the whole series or maybe even find the specific episode, “Once More With Feeling” online somewhere. I’m sure our more resourceful users can manage some way of seeing the roughly 45 minute musical in its entirety.
