Reactions: Release dates, delays, and rumors! Oh my!

This has something to do with video games, I swear!

Here’s how it is: game developers and publishers make games, and most of the time they like to release them too. That’s what this post is about if you couldn’t tell from the header image.

Reactions: Silent Hill HD Collection delayed to March 6th

At least that’s the case according to Amazon and GameStop. So if you’re looking to play remastered versions of Silent Hill 2 and 3, complete with new voice actors (what’s up with that?), you’ll have to wait roughly six weeks longer than before. But at least everything will be fresh in your mind for comparisons to the latest entry in the series, Silent Hill: Downpour, which also releases in March.

Reactions: Alan Wake XBLA game, MGS: Rising, and more rumored for the Spike VGAs

It seems like Spike TV’s Video Game Awards are quickly becoming the biggest video game show this side of E3, what with Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and more getting their official reveals there last year. And if Spike TV executive producer Geoff Keighley’s recent tweets are to be believed (and I see no reason why they shouldn’t be), this year’s show could be just as eventful.

Trailers: MGS3 running in HD

Not much to say other than the fact that I’ll officially have no excuse for having not beaten Snake Eater once the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection releases. I’m thinking some sort of MGS marathon will be in order. And as long as we’re on the topic of marathons, can anybody let me know of other movie or game series that culminate in two old men beating the crap out of each other? I’d say there’s a high probability of me liking anything with that sort of material in it.

Trailers: Check out MGS: Peace Walker on the PS3

Somebody must have missed the memo on this being part of an “HD” collection. But I suppose I can forgive these PSP graphics considering the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection packs in MGS2, MGS3, and Peace Walker all for a cool $40. What I can’t forgive is the inexplicable absence of the original Metal Gear Solid. What’s up wit dat, dawg?

Reactions: Silent Hill takes cues from film, realizes rain is dramatic

So dramatic, in fact, that the eighth entry in the revered series has officially been dubbed Silent Hill: Downpour. Developer Vatra Games hasn’t revealed many details on protagonist Murphy Pendleton’s story, but I’ll speculate that involves fighting off the nightmarish boredom of a rainy day. That’s scary, right?
