Random: Robot Chicken does a Force Unleashed commercial
Once again proving that in the face of terrible tragedy and disappointment, laughter is the best medicine. Oh, wait, you mean a funny commercial isn’t enough to boost sales for a flop of a game? Maybe developer talent is a better remedy.

Well that was an incredibly boring trailer that hardly differentiates itself from the first game. Are they really building an entire sequel around the concept of, “Not just one, but TWO LIGHT SABERS, BRO!”? Oh, and Vader not personally dispatching his enemies on the spot completely negates the whole thing anyways. Am I really supposed to believe he would leave those schmucks to take care of his secret apprentice?

My hatred for the first game will prevent me from buying this one, but for those of you who are willing to turn the other cheek, you can turn it right towards October 26th. Going off of what GiantBomb has to say, it sounds like Lucasarts is certainly trying to improve the first disappointing title. Whether that works out or not remains to be seen.

Considering how force-resistant I was to the first game, I’m not terribly excited to bring you this release date for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. I am, however, awfully psyched to make your day a little better with that Bad Ass (note the capital B and capital A) picture up yonder. If only the game could be that epically tasty.

Well, as far as Lucasarts is officially concerned, this can on this game was never even opened, so I suppose it can’t really be “canned.” But technicalities aside, Kotaku is reporting that the recent layoffs at developer Slant Six, the studio rumored to be working on the officially non-existent Battlefront Online, are the result of the game being canceled.

Hey, remember when they remade The Secret of Monkey Island with updated graphics and audio and released it on Xbox Live Arcade? Well, they’re doing that for LeChuck’s Revenge now. The Monkey Island 2 remake will have all the same features as last summer’s Special Edition, but with an improved hint system, the ability to directly control Guybrush (no more point-and-click for me!), and in-game audio commentary for those of you who want to listen in on the developers’ insights. Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will be coming to XBLA, PSN, and PC this summer. I imagine it’ll be about the same price as the first remake.

According to 1UP (via Gamesindustry.biz), LucasArts is considering all payment options when it comes to the much anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic.
