We’re back after a 2 month hiatus to bring you the best podcast this side of the Mississippi! Listen in as we yell back and forth at each other about all the great games we’ve been playing. And then, I attempt to distract Cody from the Packer’s game long enough to discuss the news of the week. Finally, prepare yourselves for a trip to the creative depths of our souls, because we’ve got a new installment of InsaneBear’s own You Are the Game! Listen to it all right here, right now!
It seems like Spike TV’s Video Game Awards are quickly becoming the biggest video game show this side of E3, what with Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and more getting their official reveals there last year. And if Spike TV executive producer Geoff Keighley’s recenttweets are to be believed (and I see no reason why they shouldn’t be), this year’s show could be just as eventful.
You get to keep your spine for a little while longer.
Originally revealed at E3 2009 and expected to ship in 2011, Kotaku is reporting that Metal Gear Solid: Rising won’t be seeing store shelves until 2012. That’s rather disappointing, but at the same time, I feel like if they get the sword fighting mechanics in this game right (and they looked damn right the last time we saw it), it could revolutionize sword-based action games as meaningfully as the original MGS did for stealth-action games.
And I love it! I just hope they can find interesting ways to keep the core gameplay from getting dull. And hopefully the story is as fleshed out as a true Metal Gear Solid game.
More of those wonderful clips from the various press conferences from today. This time we’ve got FFXIII demo shaky cam footage, Crackdown 2 announcement trailer, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Crysis 2, and Modern Warfare 2. Watch, so I don’t have to describe them all to you. Enjoy!
Hideo Kojima popped up out of nowhere at the Microsoft Press Conference today to announce a new Metal Gear Solid game that’s “in development” for the Xbox 360. It’s called “Metal Gear Rising” and will apparently star everybody’s favorite Metal Gear Solid character, Raiden. The short teaser for the game showed what was basically the same image seen on the Kojima Production’s teaser site along with pictures of Raiden. I remain skeptical whether a good Metal Gear game can be made that doesn’t star Snake, but the teaser did include the words “lightning bolt action”, so it can’t be all bad, right?
