Trailers: Counter Strike: Global Offensive is on the go
Moving too quickly for anyone to stop and question its illogical name! Or its illogical cross-platform play, for that matter; those poor XBLA players won’t have a chance against mouse and keyboard.

Kim Swift, one of the co-creators of the original Portal, has been working away in a secretive fortress of fluffiness since leaving Valve in late 2009, and the fruits of her labors have finally been revealed as Quantum Conundrum.

I have to say that I haven’t had a passing interest in any of the Mass Effect 2 DLC so far, but this one looks pretty entertaining. Expect to see “Lair of the Shadow Broker” on September 7th for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

This game needs to come to consoles so I can play it.

GameSpot‘s reporting that the highly anticipated sequel to the classic sci-fi RTS will finally be making its way into wanna-be space marines’ hands this summer. Well, at least the human-centric Wings of Liberty portion of the three-part sequel will be releasing on July 27th. But at the rate Blizzard’s been going, it might be another 20 years or so before we get to experience the full story of Starcraft II. But hey, at least you’ll have something to play in the mid-summer drought!

That interview’s a little old, but I figured I’d include it so everybody can refresh their memories on this game, because frankly, I had absolutely no idea it was coming out this soon and have seen very little marketing for it. But apparently Realtime Worlds’ GTA-inspired MMO will be releasing on June 29th in the U.S., July 1st in Europe, and July 2nd in the U.K.

GameSpot’s reporting that the sequel to 2007′s acclaimed dark fantasy RPG will be coming to PCs in early 2011 with a brand new game-engine and smoother combat. The game is said to pick up directly after the events of the first. Developer CD Projekt Red would also like to bring The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings to consoles, but there are no current plans for such a move. All I can say is that if they like money, then they should probably get their act together and make the multi-platform deal happen. I mean, come on! 360 development is practically the same as PC development. Don’t rob me of this gritty and mature RPG, you bastards! I’m sure we’ll be hearing more details at E3.
Feature: In the year 2010…

Maybe Nintendo will finally make sense of this in 2010. Maybe...
So I’ve put Dragon Age: Origins down long enough for all the other humans to tell me about this new year that’s on the way. Being the logical person that I am (and one who is most certainly not taking orders from an insane bear), I figured I’d judgmentally look back on 2009 this Saturday, once we’ve officially moved into the new year and had enough recovery time to write a Game of the Year feature. But for today, it’s still 2009, so it only seems appropriate to hopefully gaze ahead to the coming year and build expectations that will only be shattered. Such is life. That’s why we have cheesy New Year’s resolutions that try to compensate for last year’s disappointments. But we’re not to that point yet! For now, let’s just focus on all the goodness that 2010 can bring.
