Feature: 10 things Peter Molyneux will say about Fable 4

Stop me if you’ve read this one before. No, really! There’s a good possibility that you have. But after reading that list, I couldn’t help but feel like I could do a better one. It doesn’t even mention any mentally unstable bears for crying out loud! So let’s travel into an alternate alternate future and hear what Mr. Molyneux, notorious for his grandiose promises, has to say about the inevitable continuation of the Fable series.

So far, I have to say that I like the direction Fable III is taking, even if Peter Molyneux says it’s going to be more action-adventure than RPG. The Fable franchise has always been pretty light on RPG mechanics anyways, so as long as it retains the series’ signature feel, I don’t mind a more stream-lined and accessible interface. Oh, and John Cleese of Monty Python fame will be voicing your butler in the game. Yeah, you totally get a butler in Fable III. Maybe you’ll be able t slap him using Natal whenever he’s been unsatisfactory. I know it’d make me happy.

Add this to the list of announcements that we had already assumed were going to happen anyway. As I’m short on time this week, please read about the Fable III announcement from those who were actually in Germany to witness it.

Well folks, the time has finally come. We’ve reached the end of the summer, and, as such, this is our last podcast for a couple of months. We’ll be back sporadically throughout the year, so make sure to check back for more of the InsaneBearcast.
No guests this week. Just an intimate evening with Ryan and Cody. We talk about games this week. It’s what we do. And we even come up with some of our own game ideas in our “You Are The Game” segment. So sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Jazz hands!
That’s right, things are still happening in the game industry outside of E3. And according to Kotaku, one such happening is Microsoft promoting Peter Molyneux to “Creative Director of European studios at Microsoft Games Studios.” The new role will pretty much have him overseeing the creative direction of Microsoft’s European developers and projects, most notably UK based Rare, the studio behind such underrated games as Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Perfect Dark Zero. And Molyneux assured fans that he “will still be as involved with the design of lionhead games as ever,” in a tweet. So it’s nice to know that the studio behind hits like Fable II won’t be losing anything out of this.
Author: CodyReactions: “The greatest story ever told? I think it’s going to be in a computer game”

Peter Molyneux is in the news yet again. This time he’s making bold claims about the future of storytelling in video games. He told VG247 that the best story ever will be told in a video game. “And I think that if I play the greatest story ever told in the same game as you play it, your greatest story is going to be different to my greatest story. And that is power.” He also said that Lionhead is definitely trying to be the ones to create that story. Maybe that’s why their games are consistently good, they have such ambition.

Ahhh... Albion at sunset, or is that sunrise? Either way, it's beautiful, isn't it?
As Peter Molyneux promised, there’s more Fable II DLC incoming. The “See the Future” DLC is due out next month with a bevy of new features. Players will once again venture into the world of Albion to meet up with familliar faces and strike out on new quests.
Author: RyanReactions: Lionhead to show non-Fable game at E3?

Peter Molyneux and...friend
Yes, you read that right, I’m announcing the announcement of an announcement. According to Kotaku, Peter Molyneux has divulged that Lionhead is very close to being able to show off a new non-Fable IP. When asked if the title might make an appearance at E3, Molyneux cryptically said, “It’s fascinating how E3 has turned itself around. It was a show that was on its last legs and now suddenly everyone is going ‘Hey, it’s going to be a big E3′. I think this year E3 is going to be pretty big on announcements from everybody. It’s just a perfect time in the industry. We’re kind of building ourselves up and saving our energy for these big announcements.” Could the game be an old Molyneux creation that is seemingly on its last legs, ready to return to prominence? Whatever it turns out to be, it’s rumored to be squad-based, so take that for what you will. Guess we’ll all find out at E3 (hopefully).
