prince of persia: the forgotten sands
Trailers: Control the elements in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Or don’t, because this game doesn’t look entirely impressive when compared to the daring direction of 2008′s series reboot, Prince of Persia. Even if this game does turn out to be fun, it doesn’t appear to be doing anything new at all. Throwing magic into a game doesn’t make it innovative.

Maybe they should use the sands of time to go back and find a better voice actor. HEY-OH!
Author: CodyTrailers: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands gets wet and wild
Well, not so wild, but definitely wet. I’ll concede that the platforming in this game looks fun, but I dearly hope that the developers have more up their sleeves than the ability to freeze water in time. Just because it looks like water and not a pole or pillar doesn’t make it any different. To me, it looks like the elemental manipulation has absolutely no real effect on gameplay other than the obvious visual one.

I haven’t really been reporting on this game because I always assumed it was going to be some crappy movie-game cash-in marketed towards females who enjoy some shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal in their morning vista, but I stand corrected. While the latest PoP game doesn’t appear to be doing anything really new, it does look like a pretty darn fun game. I mean, if they’re using the tech behind Assassin’s Creed and switching “stabbing dudes in the face” with “puzzle-platforming,” then it should probably be like the Assassin’s Tombs in ACII, right? One can hope. Still, I really thought the 2008 Prince of Persia reboot did some very innovative things and would have liked to have seen those ideas expanded on. What was up with 2008 and innovative games not selling well?
