Reactions: The Elder Scrolls are fading into oblivion

According to Kotaku, Bethesda front man Todd Howard said that there are “no current plans” for an Elder Scrolls V while speaking at sister company id’s 2009 QuakeCon event. Now, I could have sworn I heard Bethesda talking about plans for a new Elder Scrolls game by 2010 way back when they were still working on Fallout 3. Now consider that when questioned on the possibility of an Elder Scrolls MMO during the QuakeCon conference, Howard would only say, “There’s always a chance,” and I’m starting to get worried. I really don’t want the sequel to one of my all-time favorite RPGs to be some trashy MMO. Then again, this is all just speculation on my part. I suppose Bethesda could just be forsaking the Elder Scrolls franchise completely for the near future. Either way, we lose.
