Reactions: Max Payne 3 delayed to May 15th

Alas, we won’t get to spend anytime with Hawaiian-shirt Max for a couple of months longer than expected, but if the delay helps the game to play as awesome as it looks in that video, then I’m totally alright with it. I mean, everything I know about Rockstar tells me that they’ll find a way to screw the gameplay up, but that trailer just looks so slick, especially the environmental stuff.

Reactions: Bully 2, Beyond Good & Evil 2, and a BioWare Command & Conquer?

Everybody loves rumor time! So let’s start with that shaky-cam video above. The blurry concept art you see is allegedly from Beyond Good & Evil 2. The gentlemen speakers you hear are Ubisoft’s Michel Ancel and Jordan Mechner. The hopes and dreams you feel stirring in the depths of your soul are shared by all fans of quality gaming.

Trailers: Max Payne 3 developer diary

I was really hoping that there would be some hay in the video so I could have titled this article “Max Payne rolls around in the hay,” what with the major emphasis on those silky smooth rolling/crawling/B-Boying animations. But hey, you can’t have ultra-violent bullet time fighting and sexual innuendo involving an aging detective with an affinity for Hawaiian shirts…

Trailers: Max Payne 3: A Cutting Edge Action-Shooter

Okay, so the subtitle isn’t really part of the game’s name. And rightly so! I’m pretty sure this video describes most any Third-Person Shooter on the market. But how many Shooters let you were Hawaiian shirts? That’s what I thought.

Trailers: Grand Theft Auto V Sure Sounds Familiar

As much as I respect Rockstar for the worlds they create and their great writing, I can’t help but feel that the GTA series is starting to get a bit predictable.

Reactions: Max Payne 3 exits bullet time March 2012 [Updated with trailer]

It may seem like Max Payne 3‘s development has been moving in slow motion since its announcement way back in early 2009, but seemingly out of no where, the fat man has burst onto the March 2012 launch scene in search of hair, pain pills, and a paycheck.

Review: L.A. Noire

Score: Meh
Difficulty played on: No difficulty options
Time to beat: 18-19 hours with a good portion of side-missions
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3
Loved the most: The seedy characters and story that make it a noir experience.
Hated the most: All of the gameplay mechanics are shallow and none of them are that fun.

The release of Duke Nukem Forever probably overshadows the realization of any other notorious vaporware this year (or ever), so it might come as a surprise to some of you that Team Bondi’s L.A. Noire was seven years in the making before it was finally printed on its three discs (360 version only) and shipped. Of course, Team Bondi received more than a little help from publisher Rockstar along the way, and this detective thriller oozes the distinct Rockstar flavor that the company has cultivated ever since Grand Theft Auto IV. So if you value obscenely authentic game-worlds and three dimensional characters over half-way fun game mechanics, then you’ll probably enjoy L.A. Noire; if you want to have your fedora and wear it too, then you might be left wanting more.

That’s right, kids. Head to Amazon right now to see what this whole L.A. Noire for $40 jazz is all about. While you’re at it, you should probably investigate Mortal Kombat too.

Trailers: Rising through the ranks of L.A. Noire

The real tragedy is that Cole Phelps never actually advances past Traffic duty; he just sneaks into the Vice and Homicide parties in the hope that everybody will think he’s a big shot detective who needs to be bribed.

Trailers: Get to the bottom of the IV bag in L.A. Noire

Remember the good old days, when our citizens abused government-issued morphine instead of dirty border mule dope? Neither do I, but it certainly does make for an intriguing case. Pretty much every trailer I see for this game makes me want it more.
