Reactions: RDR DLC to get stand-alone disc
Just in case you’ve been watching trailers for Red Dead Redemption‘s latest “Undead Nightmare” add-on and are wanting to play it, but you don’t own the game itself for whatever reason, Rockstar has you covered. For the asking price of $30, they will be releasing a stand-alone disc with the “Undead Nightmare,” “Outlaws to the End,” “Legends and Killers,” and “Cheats and Liars” packs on it, and you’ll be able to enjoy all of that content without the actual game. I don’t know if any of those add-ons really play up RDR‘s main strengths, but I suppose it’s a good deal if you have a hankering to dish out some justice to no-good zombie outlaws.

Score: Good
Difficulty played on: Normal
Time to beat: Around 35 hours with most side-quests
Loved the most: Dynamic and organic world that was fun to explore. Treasure maps.
Hated the most: Uninspired mission design, shallow mechanics, and extreme length left me wishing for the end half-way through.
Before you read this review, I’d just like to let you know that I’m writing this under some unusual circumstances. Due to the personal happenings of my life, it took me nearly a month and a half to beat this game–far longer than it would usually take me. Some more personal complications led to me delaying this review for about three weeks after beating the game. I’d like to think that these conditions haven’t negatively affected my opinion of Red Dead Redemption, but it is a definite possibility. Still, I will do my best to inform and explain.

Feel like you’ve gone too long without paying for post-release content? Have the urge to fight zombies in yet another inappropriate venue? Liked Red Dead Redemption? Well, if you meet at least two of these requirements, then you may be interested in the news that Rockstar is bringing four more DLC packs to their hit western beginning in August. Unlike the recent “Outlaws to the End” pack, this content will carry a price tag.

Well, the mission’s don’t really look like anything that you couldn’t find in the single-player experience, but at least it’s free and out now. Go gather up some amigos and have a rootin’ tootin’ time!
Author: CodyReactions: Red Dead Redemption’s co-op DLC moseys out June 22nd

I haven’t had the opportunity to play nearly as much Red Dead Redemption as I’d like to, but what I have played has been pretty fun so far. And you know what makes fun things double the fun? A friend or three joining in!

I don’t think the lackluster voice acting in this trailer does the game justice. Not that I’ve played it or anything, but from everything I’ve seen, Red Dead Redemption looks to be a Game of the Year contender. So why ruin it with that schmuck who voices Marston? I’m sure Clint Eastwood wouldn’t mind lending his talents for a day or two of voice work. Hell, he wouldn’t even have to prepare for the role. He’d just come in and be Clint Eastwood, wouldn’t even read the lines on the paper and Marston would sound like the bad ass cowboy he’s supposed to be. Still, I can’t wait for GTA in the West Red Dead Redemption on May 18th.
Reactions: Red Dead Redemption to offer free co-op DLC

Redemption's always more fun with a friend...
According to GameSpot, Rockstar will be releasing a free DLC pack for Red Dead Redemption this June, titled “Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack.” The pack is said to support 2-4 players online and includes six missions, three of which have been detailed so far.

I see so much potential for this to go horribly, horribly wrong. And now that I think of the fact that I have a total of maybe three online friends, then this whole thing really seems like a terrible idea. I sincerely hope that Rockstar San Diego’s focus on a multiplayer component doesn’t affect the quality of the single-player experience.

At least that’s what I’m getting out of this.
