Feature: InsaneBear’s 2009 Game of the Year

Another year has come and gone, and despite more delays than I can ever remember in one year, 2009 still saw more great games than I could possibly get around to playing. 2009 also saw me jumping into the whole game-writing thing for the first time (well, sort of). Consequently, this is InsaneBear’s first GOTY feature, and we’re going to try to keep it relatively simple. Maybe next year I’ll throw in some quirky awards meant to recognize specific games, but for now, we’ll just be sticking to the GOTY model. Without further ado…

Trailer: Cooler Super Street Fighter IV trailer

It’s better than the TGS announcement trailer because it actually shows some of the new characters in action. And you shouldn’t wonder why I found the time to post this now but not actual gameplay of the new characters earlier in the week or any of the several Dead Rising 2 videos I’ve been meaning to tear apart.

Reactions: Super Street Fighter IV officially announced

After over a week of persistent rumors, Capcom has finally come out and revealed the new and improved version of Street Fighter IV, due out in spring 2010. The update/expansion/quasi-sequel will introduce eight new characters to the roster, two of which have been revealed. A returning classic, T. Hawk will undoubtedly make many Street Fighter fans happy, and a new femme fatal by the name of Juri should keep things fresh. The rest of the additions are in the dark for now, and Capcom has said that the number eight is subject to change.

Reactions: GameStop is selling Street Fighter IV insanely cheap

You want me?  Come and get me for the low, low price of $20!

"You want me? Come and get me for the low, low price of $20!"

Kotaku is reporting that universally hated retail chain GameStop is selling the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the critically praised fighter for a mere $20. Brand new. No strings attached. Don’t believe me? Check it out! Now, fighting games usually aren’t my cup of tea, but I actually might pick this up. The game’s only five months old for Pete’s sake!
