In case you were ever wondering what it would have looked like had it been made in the early ’90′s as a Side-Scrolling Beat-’Em-Up. It might not have the same appeal with the kids as the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles and pizza, but it don’t look half-bad, Johnny.

True, the classes do seem a tad unbalanced in favor of heavier shooters, but it’s free. I like when people do awesome things for free. If you do too, then check out Team Fortress Arcade sometime around the end of August.

What better way to announce the news that one of the best competitive Shooters available has gone free to play than with one of Valve’s patented “Meet the…” videos? Can we start a petition or something to get those guys working on a full length movie? Gabe Newell could have the next Pixar on his hands here.

Anyways, you should probably go download it now and join in on all the fun. Just be weary of those mega baboon hearts; it might seem like a great idea at first, but before you know it there’ll be mega chimp hearts and mega dolphin hearts and maybe even mega elephant hearts. You’ll have microtransactioned yourself into mega debt with no way of paying the bills other than pawning your less vital organs to a black-market handler codenamed Archimedes.

I love how much character this game and its community has. If only I had a good PC and friends to play with.

I assume that if I played Team Fortress 2 I’d understand this toast joke a little better…at least I hope I would. Either way, this video has a certain humorous quality to it.
