the witcher 2: assassins of kings
Trailers: The Witcher 2′s combat is so dope…
That you’ll start speaking in tongues when you play it. Seriously. I swear those dudes didn’t know a word of Polish before playing The Witcher 2. Honestly…

From the looks of it, developer CD Projekt Red is devil-upping a deep and engaging combat system with some gorgeous animations to match. The wait won’t be much longer, with release pegged for May 17th. And maybe if I continue to wish for a console version in every post related to the game, that’ll come in good time too.

Not a whole lot of new info here, but it’s nice to see that CD Projekt Red has gotten some English-speaking PR guys. I’m really hoping a console version of this emerges before the end of 2011.

This game needs to come to consoles so I can play it.

Firstly, how expensive could it possibly be to get an English speaking spokesman for these things? Jesus! But now that that’s out of the way, this game looks awesome to an epic degree of radtacularness. I just hope it comes out on consoles day and date with the early 2011 PC version…although importing choices from the first game could be a problem on consoles, what with there not being a first game on consoles. Regardless, these guys are saying all of the right things and I really have my hopes up for this one. I mean, they’re from Poland–bleak and depressing stories are sort of in their nature.

I’m totally stoked for this game and all, but come on, CD Projekt RED. How about you hire a PR guy who speaks English as one of your specialists?

GameSpot’s reporting that the sequel to 2007′s acclaimed dark fantasy RPG will be coming to PCs in early 2011 with a brand new game-engine and smoother combat. The game is said to pick up directly after the events of the first. Developer CD Projekt Red would also like to bring The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings to consoles, but there are no current plans for such a move. All I can say is that if they like money, then they should probably get their act together and make the multi-platform deal happen. I mean, come on! 360 development is practically the same as PC development. Don’t rob me of this gritty and mature RPG, you bastards! I’m sure we’ll be hearing more details at E3.

It certainly doesn’t look like anything revolutionary, but it does look like they’re improving many aspects of the first game. And really, I’m more excited about this because of The Witcher‘s reputation for dark, mature story-telling. Really looking forward to this one, which will probably hit in the later half of 2010.
