Trailers: Call of Duty: Black Ops Reveal trailer

Not entirely sure why they’re calling this the reveal trailer considering this game already had one about a week ago, but whatever. My thoughts are that it looks fun but hardly gives off a Vietnam vibe. I mean, if you’re going to make a game about the Cold War, I would think that you might use some of the many iconic Vietnam War films as inspiration, and all I’m getting out of this is “Modern Warfare 2 with older guns.”

Reactions: Call of Duty: Black Ops revealed

Treyarch’s next Call of Duty game will be bringing its Cold War setting (Cube, Vietnam, and the Arctic are confirmed locations) to Xbox 360s, PS3s, and PCs near you this November 9th. Not a whole lot’s known about the game so far, but Activision has stated it will include single-player, competitive multiplayer, and co-op. Other than that, we really only have this enticing trailer to go off of. I’m not the biggest fan of Treyarch, but that is a pretty sweet video.

Reactions: Call of Duty moving on to the Cold War?

Thank you, God, for finally moving past World War 2!

According to Kotaku, Activision is pursuing licenses for Vietnam War-era music, as well as Cuban, Soviet Union, and African music. Unless the next Call of Duty game involves time-traveling WWII grunts or future soldiers who appreciate good music, the only logical explanation is a title taking place sometime in the 1960′s and possibly the 1970′s.
