Or at least you can until October 5th. According to GameSpot, Microsoft is running a promotion where any prospective buyer can get the recently discounted SKU even cheaper after a $50 rebate. So if you’re willing to go through the always tedious rebate process, you’ll receive a $50 check 6-8 weeks after submission, meaning you can get the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite model for the same price as the Nintendo Wii (which has a high probability of dropping to $200 in the coming week, but is still $250 at the time of this writing). But the offer only lasts ’til October 5th, so act swiftly.

After months of rumor, GameSpot is finally reporting that the Xbox 360 Elite price-cut is official. Microsoft has confirmed that the 120GB HDMI-equipped model will be selling for a mere $300 beginning this Friday. The only change being made to the SKU is that the previously packed in HDMI cables are being removed, which sucks no doubt, but isn’t that big of a deal with the console being a whole $100 cheaper.

Haha, oh man, my titles entertain me. But anyways. If you’re into recurring rumors about things that won’t happen for months, then read on. According to GameSpot, there’s a reliable tipster who claims that Sony will be cutting the price of the PS3 as well as introducing the long rumored 120GB PS3 Slim this fall.
